SAP assessments

The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the government's methodology for energy assessment of dwellings. All new homes require a SAP assessment, with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) being produced from the results.

SAP assessments are also required under the Energy section of the Code for Sustainable Homes, as they produce a Target Emission Rate (TER) and actual Dwelling Emissions Rate (DER), and the different between the two. For Code 3, for example, the DER must be 25% lower than the TER, for Code 4 at least 44%, and for Code 5 100%.

As licensed SAP assessors, Phlorum can perform design or as-built SAP assessments, and issue Predicted Energy Assessment certificates (PEAs) at the design stage, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) at the post-construction stage.

Phlorum are also able to provide SBEM assessments for commercial and industrial premises and can issue Display Energy Certificates (DECs).
