Environmental Consultancy Jobs
Phlorum Limited is a true multidisciplinary environmental consultancy providing a wide range of environmental assessment services. We were founded on a unique, specialist Japanese knotweed management service, which combines our experience and skills in ecology, plant physiology, contaminated land, auditing and wider environmental topics.
We are always on the lookout for highly talented individuals to join our professional team and help the company’s continued growth.
Phlorum Limited endeavours to protect and care for the welfare and development of our employees. We encourage personal development and provide exciting opportunities for promotion.
Phlorum is committed to equality of opportunity for everyone regardless of their race, nationality, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or marital status.
Each summer survey season, which runs from around April to September/October, we need temporary staff in our Brighton & Manchester offices to help us carry out a large volume of ecology surveys. These include surveys for bats, badgers, amphibians, reptiles and other species and habitats.
All you really need is to be interested in ecology and working outdoors over the summer.
This is a brilliant opportunity for students and graduates to gain experience getting on the first rung of the career ladder in ecological consultancy.
Full training will be given. You just need to be keen and interested in ecology and the outdoors.
If this sounds of interest, please contact us below.
Principal and Graduate Ecologists
We are currently looking to add to our expanding ecology team in our Brighton office. In particular we want to appoint a new team leader / principal ecologist.
If you have more than five years experience in ecological consultancy and proven project and client management skills, then we would be very interested in talking to you.
We are also looking for less experienced staff who have some ecology survey skills and qualifications – particularly those who have worked under appropriate licences for protected species work.
If either position at our Brighton office is of interest, please contact us – details below.
Japanese Knotweed Contractors/Consultants
We are currently looking for staff with proven skills in Japanese knotweed removal/treatment/management. If you have experience of applying herbicides to treat knotweed or have site management and/or clerk of works expertise on knotweed removal projects, we would like to hear from you.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our reporting systems and as such we like our knotweed staff to have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Almost all of our staff are educated to degree level but this doesn’t mean we will only employ graduates.
If you think you would be of benefit to the knotweed team at Phlorum, please email your CV to us at the address below.
Air Quality Consultants
Our continued growth requires new staff to support our air quality consultancy team in our Brighton office. We will consider all levels of experience, with our minimum requirement usually being two years previous full-time employment in a dispersion modelling role. We are currently on the lookout for someone who fits this minimum requirement.
Our bread-and-butter project work includes predictive modelling for industrial, infra-structure, commercial and residential developments using ADMS, Aermod, Screen, ADMS Roads, Breeze Roads and the DMRB/IANs/WebTAG. We also regularly provide odour assessment and air quality monitoring services for indoor environments, restaurants, occupational exposure reporting and nuisance impacts from waste water treatment works and contaminated land remediation projects.
The bulk of our work is UK-based but we do undertake some work overseas – mainly the Middle East and Africa.
Good communication with clients on the phone and in person is essential, as is the ability to handle large amounts of numerical data and to write clear and concise technical reports in excellent English.
For more senior positions we would expect a proven track record in developing new business and in effectively managing client relationships.
Although we may not be currently advertising for other new positions, if you are a bright, suitably qualified and experienced individual who shares our values and you believe that you can add to our service provision, please do get in touch as we’d be very happy to hear from you.
If you think you can work with Phlorum then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
