Grow frogs grow!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPicAt the weekend a friend of mine gave me some frog spawn for my pond but I am fairly certain that they won’t hatch into frogs as it is too late in the year. Last year all the spawn was eaten by diving beetles so the same thing might happen this year although there doesn’t seem to be anything living in the pond this year at all, just a few sad looking lilies trying their best to get going.

Japanese knotweed in Thamesmead

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPicJeffrey Archer must have been inspired by his spell in Belmarsh Prison to write in his new book about Japanese knotweed. The invasive weed is all around the surrounding area where Phlorum has been regularly treating it.

The plant plays an important role in the Jeffrey Archer story and, presumably, his research was done during his time languishing at Her Majesty’s Prison.
